英文故事: A Bat who can't fly

 作者:Annie Lin

Hello! I’m Annie. I’m a bat. When I was young, I couldn’t fly. I’ll tell you my story.

It was a spring morning, a little bat was born in a dark tree hole. It had brown eyes and dark-red wings with two little feet that looked like other bats, but it wasn’t. The little bat was me. Soon I was a moon old. All the bats started to learn how to fly when they were one month old. So, I learned how to fly with my brothers and sisters who had brown eyes and dark-red wings, too.

But, no matter how hard I try, I couldn’t fly towards the blue sky. All of the bats tease me. They thought I was a coward. Then my brothers and sisters just left me and flew away to find new trees. I was lonely.

Do you think it’s horrible? In fact, it is not.

One day, a very big eagle came.

It had yellow eyes and big brown furry wings. It looked at me hungrily. I know it wants to eat me. It caught me with its big claw, took me up and flew away. I bit the eagle’s leg. It yelled and it threw me away in the air. I thought I would die so I closed my eyes and opened my wings. Then I flew! I finally flew up! I could feel the wind and the warm sunlight. It was amazing!

At first, I didn’t know how to fly. However, after I try, I found that flying is easy. It is nothing worry about to try new things!
